I am a Registered Counseling Therapist (Candidate) with the Nova Scotia College of Counseling Therapists and hold a Masters Degree in Creative Arts Therapy from Concordia University specializing in Drama Therapy. I have experience working in Schools, Community Centers and Psychiatric Settings. I provide counseling therapy in person, online and via social distanced home visits.
I help clients access their innate human capacity for creativity, connection and play so as to reduce the effects of anxiety and depression. Clients gain understanding of their past and how it affects their current situation. My approach is influenced by Drama Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Play Therapy and theories of trauma informed care.
By practicing to be open, creative, adaptable and playful people can learn to live in the moment, be present and connect with their feelings, their loved ones and themselves. Using a mix of creative and talk based therapy I help clients to increase self-esteem, build resiliency and coping skills to prepare for life’s natural inevitable ups and downs. I work with adults, families, children and adolescents and members of the 2ILGBTQ+ community.
